Going Forward

Good Evening all,
This is James just wanting to say hello and let everyone know that God is really good.  Last night was a really good night.  We had lots of fun, we played some games and we had a move of God.  We had 17 in Souled Out and that is an exciting thing.  With Gods help we are going forward.  I really feel that God is wanting to do a great work in the lives of people all over this city.  He is waiting for us to get up and go into the city he has called us to.  So instead of running and searching this world over to fill that emptiness that we feel in our lives,  we should run to Jesus and we will find that peace that we have been looking for.  Yes it is hard to do what God wants us to do.  I know what it feels like to run from the Lord but I also know what it feels like to surrender and let God move in a mighty way.  So I am excited for what God is going to do in this last day.  Looking forward to how God is going to move in the young people of Langley.  Next week there is no Souled Out, we will be in revival but the week after is going to be really good time.  Till next time have a great day and be sensitive to what God wants to do in your life. God has a plan and it is a great plan.  He never does things small he always does things in a great way.  Don't be afraid of what God wants to do cause he will make a way where there is no way.  When it looks like there is no way that is when God steps in and he does great things.  Thanks for reading, have a great night.

Inventory

Good Day all,

Sorry for the late post.  Had to get up early today and go in to work.  Doing an inventory to see just what is in our yard for stock and what we think that we had but really don’t.

Thinking about it there are times in our life that we need to stop and take an inventory of what we have in our life.  Things that we think we have that we really do not and other things that we did not realize were there.  We think that we keep track of everything that comes and goes in and out of our life but you would be amazed at what sticks and what just slips away.

This world today is so busy and it is go-go-go all the time.  Don’t stop; if you stop you will miss something and you don’t want to do that.  It is easy to just get going so fast that you do not know when to slow down cause there is just way too much to do.  I encourage you to slow down just a little.  Life will still be there it is not going anywhere.  Things will not change that much while you take time to see what is in your life and what is missing.  Take time for yourself and get in touch with God.  If you don’t, you will go to get something off a self in your life and you will realize you are out of it and you will find things in its place that you did not plan to have there.

Life is too short to just rush through and miss things around you.  So take stock and remember God is there for you no matter what.  It might feel like things are missing and there is just too much junk in your life.  Take a break breath and do an inventory and search for the things that you feel have been lost cause I can tell you if you start to look for stock in your life you will not have to look too far.  Getting on your knees in prayer is a good place to start.

So, remember to do an inventory of your life from time to time and don’t let things that are important slip away.

At work, the only good time to do an inventory, a complete one, is when no one is there and nothing is moving.  When things are moving and the guys are working then you miss stuff and things don’t get counted and you don’t have the right stock counted.  So find some time to take an inventory so that you know what is going on in your life.

First Blog of 2010

Good Morning All,

Just want to start out by telling you a little bit about my self.  First my name is James Lory and I am the Youth Leader of Life Tabernacle in Langley.  I am 26 and am married and have one child.  My little girl is 6 months old and I really enjoying being a Dad.

I am really excited about what is going to happen in 2010 in Souled Out.  I am doing this Blog to keep up with what is going on in Souled Out and the progress through the year.  As a group, I am thankful for each Student that is there and I am looking forward to seeing what God does in each and every one.

The title for January is Lost & Found.  Just a simple title but something that I feel is really important for today and this month.  In the next couple weeks I will be talking about something that has been Lost and and how to find it again.  Just simple things and simple ideas cause God is not as complicated as some try and make him out to be.  He is the King of Kings and he did speak the world into existents and is a really big God but as big as he is and has awesome as he is he is still interested in what you are going through and what is happening in your life from day to day.  That is the first thing that I think has been Lost.  It is having an understanding that God is not some far off God and he is not too busy with all that is going on that he can not take time to meet with you where you are at.

If you have been a live for very long you have times in your life where you feel like you are all alone.  No matter how many people are around you feel like you are the only one left in this world.  You could be in the middle of a mall during the Christmas rush and feel like there was no one at all.  When life is down and life is just not going the way it should we feel like it will never end.  I have felt this way from time to time but the thing is I know a God that never leaves my side.  So we have Lost sight of the fact that God is always there and if we turn to him he is able to help.  If you don't know who God is, that is alright cause he is a God that is as close as the mention of his name.  So if you know him or if you want to know who he is all you have to do is call out his name.  That name is Jesus.  If you are wondering, how can he help, how is it possible for him to help me.  Here is a chapter in the bible that will help.  This is what I turn to when I am feeling down and out.

Psalm 27:1-14

Psa 27:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psa 27:2  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Psa 27:3  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Psa 27:4  One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
Psa 27:5  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psa 27:6  And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
Psa 27:7  Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Psa 27:8  When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Psa 27:9  Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Psa 27:10  When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psa 27:11  Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Psa 27:12  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
Psa 27:13  I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psa 27:14  Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

I am writing this blog not just for people that know who he is but for people that are looking for some thing but unsure of what they are looking for.  I just want to say if you have tried everything that this world there is some thing that I have tired and found to fill that void that emptiness that I had in my life.  Even as some one that knows Jesus there are times that I need to remind my self of just how Great God is.  I need to remember just how close God is and what he is able to do.

We forget just how close he is and we also forget that all it takes to get close to him again is just calling out his Name and talking with him in your own way.  It does not take long at all in talking with him to find him.  So knowing him for a long time like I have or not even know much about him he is always right there.

If you are interested in learning more Souled Out is every Friday night from 7:30 to 9:30 at Life Tabernacle in Langley 4447 200th st.  Hope to see you there.  Hope everyone has an awesome week and I will be updating this Blog every Saturday so be ready for it next week.

If you have any questions just send me an email at jameslory@telus.blackberry.net and I will answer your questions to the best of my ability.
